Hi Dean and Ciaran, thanks for letting us know about the Google Wonderwheel! I didn't know that before. All I use in finding keywords is google adwords keyword generator.

Nice show as usual. On another note, I'd like to know how Dean manages to get an avalanche of traffic to your blog. I know you post a controversial or interesting post. But how do you get the critical mass in the first place that puts you on the first page of digg. Do you have a circle of social media friends who are providing the initial momentum?

Secondly, here's my slogan contribution for your show:

Blistering Success - Aaaaaaaaah! Done It

Hi Phil, Dean and Ciaran,

Maybe I'm missing something here, but while watching your video and you got to talking about 'MiniCanvas.co.uk', an idea struck me... I was reminded of one of THE best mailings ever produced. The 'Coat of Arms'... by the late great Gary Halbert .(I'm sure a guy like yourself Dean should've heard of this... ;)

I also noticed Phil that you do larger sizes of your canvases... That's what got my brain into OVERDRIVE!! In this time of 'allegedly' recession...

Phil, you should immediately:-

1. Send a 'complimentary' large canvas to national and/or international football clubs. This would be pretty easy to 'test'.

2. Set up an affiliate program. The football clubs can then sell the canvases to their players,(as opposed to selling players), meaning the money, well some of it, would go back into the club. (as opposed to selling players). I'm sure a great many football players would be happy to buy these from 'their club'. Well it'd be cheaper than letting their wives go shoppping... (No offence ladies).

I hope you get the gist of what I mean... Well I'm sure Dean and Ciaran and yourself Phil could sort it. I've got a few more ideas about this, but I need to eat...

Looking forward to some feedback, and if you like this idea I only charge 10% per order of goods..!! :)

All the best guys and take care,

Hi Vincent

It's Phil here from MiniCanvas.co.uk (one of the examples in the video). This is a new strategy that I have been using and so far I have only tested it on a very small number of people but all responses to date have been great - so good that I even got a mention by Dean/Ciaran which I'm obviously well chuffed about!

If someone has privacy on their domain just contact them via Facebook or Twitter, send them a friend request or direct message and say 'Hey... I have something that I want to send you in the post'. Make it sound as interesting as it is (hopefully) and they'll send you their address.

Email is too unreliable and is also filtered by VA's as Dean/Ciaran mention. As I say, this is still a new approach I have been using but I have been given the physical addresses of a number of marketers who have some influence and a big following...

... I just need to get making and sending mini canvases to them all :O)

Thanks Dean/Ciaran (I have sent you a friend request on FB for you Ciaran so I can get a pic of you - there aren't many on your blog to choose from!!)

Vincent,

Good question.

You basically would just have two personal brands. I would have two separate domains, and have one for dance, one for MLM.

When you do social media etc... your bio will cover both, as will your updates.

You could have two different Twitter accs as well if you wish, but I wouldn't recommend spreading yourself too thinly.

Dean

PS: Ciaran, great idea and great resource. Love it!

I've got another question.

about personal branding:
I am already developing a local business as dance teacher and I market my class on internet, which is working very well. My personal branding is quite good and I improve it constantly.
I am now starting another business ( global ) as a internet marketer (mlm) and of course will use personal branding as well.
how can I manage these 2 personal branding, do you know any example of someone doing that? the target are clearly very different? so what is the best? to separate one business from the other, or let the people know about my 2 businesses. I am thinking here about Virgin that develops so many different markets with sucksess ;-)

let me know your thoughts about it
Thanks
Vincent

Vincent,

Yes, there is a bit of a catch22 there, as you need the postal address to send the video, so if you know the addy, then in most cases you will ALREADY know the person.

Also, if you send the video link via email instead, then you have the same issue of getting through virtual assistants etc...

It is an effective strategy though, and Ciaran does it brilliantly.

At the end of the day though, people love stuff they can hold in their hands, it gives a higher perceived value, the picture from MiniCanvas.co.uk is perfect for that.
